When my planner broached the subject of whether I wanted to rent or purchase my own centerpiece vases, I decided I didn't want to chance anyone taking the rentals and opted to buy. I was clearly young and naive because the style of vaseI wanted (gold pedestal vases) are NOT CHEAP! So my hunt through pinterest began and I found tutorials on how to make your own. I loved the idea and everyone seemed to be getting their materials from Dollar Tree. Unfortunately there are no Dollar Trees near me and the closest Dollarama doesn't sell a lot of glass wear. So I headed to my nearest Value Village and fell in love!!! I've been making weekly trips there every since.
The idea is really simple. Find some pretty bowls and candle sticks and glue them together. I used E6000 glue and let them sit upside down for 2 days just to be safe. Make sure to wash everything before gluing.
As you can see my heights, and bowl widths are all slightly different. I love that they're all one of a kind and special. No one will be taking the same vase home. I'll be spray painting them gold to tie everything together. Each vase costs less than $10.
