When I found out I was going to Tokyo I knew I had to check out a cat cafe. The one I ended up going to is called Calico Cat cafe in the Shinjuku area.
Here is a bit of information on the cafe:
The entrance of the cafe is on the 6th floor of the building and the cafe itself is 2 floors. The fee for the first hour is around $10 but there is no mandatory drink or food you need to purchase. All food for the cats will cost extra but I recommend giving them food. They will all gather around you to play and eat. Otherwise they mostly sleep or ignore you. They have a wide variety of cats which were all relatively friendly. For my personal experience I will say the cafe was funner then I expected. An hour flew by quickly and the cats were really sweet. The cafe provides various toys for you to use free of charge. The personality of cats also varied. Many of them just slept but a few were very playful. Pouncing from one side of the cafe to the next and cuddling various people.
Below are a few pictures from the cafe!!!
Other animal cafes of interest I would recommend checking out in Tokyo is the bunny cafe, owl cafe, and dog cafes!
Here are some photos from a recent trip to California. Enjoy!

Here is a little quote to get you pumped and started for the week!
"Love the life you live. Live the life you love."
I love flowers. So it isn't surprising that I decided to visit the New York Botanical gardens during my trip to the city last week. A lot of people find inspiration in different things. Nature is one of those things for me. So I took off and headed to the gardens. For reference, there is a railway train that only takes 20 minutes to get to the gardens from Grand Central. I made a mistake and took the subway to the opposite side of the park so I ended up needing to walk through a forest to reach the conservatory where the exhibition was.
Since it is still early in the season the grounds aren't in bloom yet but as I walked through I could tell they would be beautiful in the summer. I was also the only one walking around which ended up making the journey a relatively peaceful one.
The conservative was large and beautiful. I used my phone to capture pictures due to the humidity inside.
Finally the Flowers
The exhibition on right now was the orchard show, but the regular exhibits were still there as well.
The different varieties of flowers were beautiful and the grounds are large and a nice escape from the city. If you are in New Yrok I would definitely recommend visiting the NY botanical gardens.
Today's motivational quote of the day is:
"Never shy away adversity. Stay ambitious. Be ambitious."
No matter how impossible something appears, or how much we fall, as long as we stay focused, positive, and ambitious in life, nothing is impossible. I personally love reading quotes that encourage us to push harder and never give up and remind us of all the little things in life that we don't always think about.
Do you ever have moments where you try to come up with new ideas or inspiration and you just can't think of a single thing? Then suddenly you have a moment or a dream and ideas just pop into your head? I'll be honest that's the most natural way I usually find inspiration. When I least expect it. This doesn't happen often however and I am led to look elsewhere for inspiration. This section of the site will share things that inspire me in everyday life. Things that motivate and give you energy. I will leave this post with one of my favorite quotes to follow in life when I need a push to feel motivated.
"Do it now. Sometimes later becomes never."
